Munnar

Munnar is located at an altitude of 1600 m above sea level. Munnar studded with sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes and holiday facilities make this a popular resort town. Among the exotic flora found in the forests and grasslands is the 'Neelakurinji'.

Munnar also has the highest peak in south India, Anamudi. Anamudi is also an ideal spot for trekking. Let's have a look at the excursions from Munnar- The Evarikulam National Park which is 16km far from Munnar. The park is the home for elephants, lion-tailed macaque, and the Nilgiri tahr. Marayoor is located to east of the Evarikulam National Park. The Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is the home of elephants, leopards, and bear. Top Station, bordering the state of Kerala, offers spectacular views of the Western Ghats and they make excellent excursion option from Munnar. Mudapetty Dam is a popular picnic spot and travelers from Munnar can get involved in activities like boating and horse riding.
