Coonoor

Coonoor is a town and a municipality which is situated in the Nilgiris district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Coonoor is well known for its production of Nilgiri tea. Now Coonoor is considered as the most happening place for the tourists.

Travellers can enjoy the unique ride on the toy train that connects Coonoor with Mettupalayam and Ooty. Tourists can also trek to Law’s Falls, which is located 5 km from Coonoor.

Coonoor is a fabulous hill station in the Nilgiri hills about 19 km from Ooty. Coonoor, located at an altitude of 1,856 meters, is the second largest hill station in the Nilgiri hills.

The Sim's Park that is covered with all the natural beauty is studded all around with trees and plants. Unforgettable view points for tourist are at Coonoor are Lamb's Rock, Dolphin's Nose; Lady Canning's Seat to name a few. Coonoor the small tea town is the first of the three hill stations in the Nilgiri- Ooty, Kotagiri and Coonoor.

A fantastic spot for the tourist in India is also noted for the different varieties of birds. Far away from pollution, Coonoor is a right spot for the lover of nature.

Solar Observatory- One of the only three solar observatories in the world, the observatory in Kodaikanal is almost 75 years old.

Fairy Falls have become an interesting picnic spot of Kodaikanal.

Coaker's Walk- Coaker is situated on the southern end of Kodaikanal. The coaker's walk proves to be an exceptional place to get some of the most fascinating views of the surrounding areas.

Kurinji Andavar Temple is located 3 km away from the star shaped lake. You can also view the beautiful Northern Plains and Palani Hills from this temple.

If you want to reach this hill station via air than Madurai is the nearest airport. If you want to travel by rail than Kodai Road Railway station is the nearest. Reaching Kodaikanal via road, the hill station is well connected to all major cities of Tamil Nadu. So don't escape to explore this paradise...

Bangalore the fifth largest city in India is the capital of the southern Indian state of Karnataka. Bangalore now also called as Bangaluru is also known as the Garden City because of its many beautiful gardens and parks.

Major picnic spots of the city are Mekedatu, 98 km south of Bangalore, and Muthyalamaduvu, 40 km from Bangalore. You can visit the city any time of the year and enjoy the salubrious climate. But the best time to visit is between September and March.
