Wayanad

Wayanad is one of the fourteen districts in Kerala is situated in an elevated picturesque mountainous plateau in Western Ghats. Wayanad is blessed with a unique geographical position.

Valliyoorkavu temple is located high in the Wayanad Hills at Valliyoorkkavu. The temple is dedicated to goddess Bhagavathy.

Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary was established in 1973.

Banasura Dam is 15 kms far from north west of Kalpetta. This dam is the largest earth dam in India. With the crystal clear water the dam looks awesome. Now its an ideal picnic spot.

Kalpetta is located at the headquarters of the Wayanad District. You can reach this beautiful place by all means.

Peermade hill station

Peermade hill station in Kerala is considered as a summer retreat of the Maharajas of Travancore. This cool hill resort rejuvenates the mind, body and the soul. This hill station is studded with clouds on it's peaks. Peermade lies 85 km east of Kottayam. The weather overhere remains cool throughout the year.

Other popular activities at Peermade are cycling and horse riding. Kuttikanam is the other town close to Peermade where one have terrific trekking opportunities.

Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary- The wildlife sanctuary is worth visiting. Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is renowned for its tigers, elephants, sambar, flying squirrels, etc. The Government Guest House offers a cozy and comfortable stay at this hill station.

Backwater Paradise-Kumarakom

Kumarakom is a tourist village in Kottayam district, Kerala, India. Kumarakom has a wide variety of flora and fauna. This place has a well noted bird sanctuary where many species of migratory birds visit. The birds sanctuary is best tourist attraction.

The Vembanad Lake, which is one of the largest backwater in Kerala teems with Pearl spot, shrimp and prawns. Kumarakom has a wide variety of houseboats too. There are elegant special boats like Kochu-odi Vallam, Odi-Vallam, Iruttukutthi Vallam, Churulan Vallam and Chundan Vallam(Snake Boat), which take part in the boat races around Onam time.

Kumarakom is one of the most beautiful villages in the world. It is also called as a paradise and when you are planning a holiday, Kumarakom is a trip that you would surely enjoy as you will feel so much relaxed in the lap of nature and best time to visit Kumarakom is in between September to May. Although tourist season starts from November to March itself.
