Trichy

The major engineering hub in India Tiruchirappalli, also called as Trichy is situated on the banks of the river Cauvery is the fourth largest city in Tamil Nadu. Trichy is a perfect blend of tradition and modernity built around the Rock Fort.

Apart from the fort, there are several Churches, Colleges and Missions dating back to the 1760s. The most famous landmarks of this amazing town are the Rock fort Temple.

On top of the rock there is the Ucchi Pillayar Koil, a temple of the Hindu god Ganesha, that gives a fantastic picturesque of the city . Trichy is famous for artificial diamonds, cigars, handloom cloth, glass bangles and wooden and clay toys. Sri Lankan Tamil is widely spoken in some parts of the city. Other language spoken here is English.
